AMD reported record quarterly revenue of $13.4 billion for Q3 2026, according to its earnings call on Tuesday. CEO Lisa Su said the quarter "was the largest and most profitable in our history."

The company's data center business drove much of that growth, with $8.5 billion in quarterly revenue. Data center revenue accounted for roughly 63 percent of AMD's net quarterly revenue. Overall revenue rose $1.9 billion in the quarter, while data center revenue rose $1.8 billion.

AMD predicts its revenue will reach $17 billion next quarter. Su said the company expects revenue to "grow more than 80 percent in 2027," adding that "data center will be the largest contributor."

CFO Jean Hu said AMD expects its data center business to account for more than 80 percent of total company revenue by 2027.

Gaming revenue fell 40 percent from a year earlier, to $773 million. Su attributed the decline to component price increases that have raised system prices for consumer products. The article links these increases to RAM and other component shortages, which it attributes to demand from AI data centers. Intel said it does not expect the shortage to improve next year. SK Hynix predicted it will last until 2030.

Su said, "We are planning with the current environment for a down year for 2027."
