Vizio's Mini LED Quantum TV is discounted at Walmart. The 65-inch model is priced at $358, $40 off, and the 85-inch model is priced at $698, $100 off, according to The Verge.
The report says the TV runs Vizio OS, but users can bypass the manufacturer's setup agreements and disable the built-in operating system. That lets owners use an external streaming device such as a Roku or Apple TV 4K.
The Verge says the set uses quantum dots and a mini-LED panel. Its testing found it can reach 936 nits when calibrated. The report describes trade-offs: the IPS panel has weaker black levels than more expensive sets, and fast scenes show some motion blur. The TV has three HDMI 2.0 ports and supports up to 4K at 60Hz.
