Apple is cutting the daily amount its engineering teams can spend on AI, according to Bloomberg, which reported the change on Wednesday.
Bloomberg reported that Apple lowered the daily AI spending cap for its engineering teams in October, from $300 to $200. Sources told Bloomberg that some allowances will fall to $100 a day. Outside engineering, Apple is reportedly weighing a daily limit as low as $25.
The report describes the change as a big shift for a company that has worked to integrate AI into its engineering processes. TechCrunch said it had reached out to Apple for comment.
