Apple will bring Apple Intelligence to China with iOS 27.3, according to an announcement on the company's Chinese newsroom website, as reported by MacRumors. The features will first appear in an iOS 27.3 beta set to launch November 4, with a full iOS 27.3 release scheduled for December.

The launch will not include the new Siri AI. Instead, Apple will offer several earlier Apple Intelligence features, including notification summaries, real-time translation, rewriting and proofreading tools, visual intelligence, and object removal from photos.

Apple says it has worked with Alibaba to add support for its Qwen chatbot in some experiences. The source describes this as similar to iOS's integration with OpenAI's ChatGPT, which launched in 2024.

The source notes that Apple Intelligence received approval in China in July. It also cites a Reuters report from August that Apple trained its own large language model specifically for China.
