TikTok has added an in-app restaurant guide called "Must Eat," according to TechCrunch. The feature draws on more than 40 million posts and comments to compile restaurant recommendations and curated lists. Users can browse restaurants by city and filter by cuisine, price, rating, and location. The report says the move puts TikTok in more direct competition with Yelp and Google Maps.

Bloomberg reported in August that TikTok is developing a feature that would let users send money to each other through direct messages. The report says the feature would use TikTok Pay, which is already available in Southeast Asia for TikTok Shop purchases. Reuters reported in March that TikTok applied to Brazil's central bank for approval to operate as a financial technology company offering lending and payment services.

The report also covers other recent additions. TikTok launched a FIFA World Cup hub with scores, schedules, standings, and highlights. In May, it launched TikTok GO in the United States, which lets users find and book hotels, attractions, and experiences within the app.

According to eMarketer, TikTok Shop grew its U.S. sales by 407% in 2024 and 108% in 2025, reaching $15.82 billion. eMarketer also says TikTok accounted for 18.2% of U.S. social commerce last year and expects that share to reach 24.1% by 2027.
